the 36 shots project
For those photography lovers with a different idea of their story.
A different approach on photography
Images that tremble for a few seconds on our screens and then disappear in the middle of an overflow of too many pictures, clean, perfect, predictable and with automated editing process.
A different idea focuses on another approach.
Less is more
Less pictures to search a story, a tighter choice for a personalised handmade editing and a real careful selection for an editing that really makes sense.
Meaningful
The moment we search for, the light we wait and look for, the lens we decide to use, the composition and slowly silent approach versus blazing fast automatic cameras for a new language that looks for a simple thing that nowadays is often missing: something true.
After
Editing is a moment of great importance in this process, so there will not be copy and paste of presets by any software or AI for making choices or, even worse, adjustments. The reasoned selection of shots will be carefully adjusted to bring back the magic it convinced us to press the shutter.
About this 36 shots project
A roll of film has 36 shots. This was and still is a creative limit that pushes us photographers to think, wait and search.
Editing, after, takes time. We have to go through contact sheets and carefully choose the pictures that make sense when we have to be the storytellers of such an important story as a wedding day can be. Then it comes the moment of the printing process and that’s where the summary of the day becomes important and the desire of avoiding the delivery of evanescent web galleries with thousands of pictures gains real importance. It’s simply impossible to be equally dedicated to finalise a perfect print while you have to care about 1000 of them and then again the diamonds would get lost in a box full of imitations and the power it weakens.
This project is for the people that love quality versus quantity in photography and who desire to look at a closer selection that could really walk with you as a symbol of truth.
Every assignment gets delivered in one archival photo-box with 36 shots and you will get a wider but curated selection of files and scans from our negatives.
This includes both digital and analog photography service.
