A Different Engagement Session in Liguria
This engagement session in Liguria was approached in a quiet and natural way, focusing more on atmosphere, movement and connection than traditional posed photography.
Surrounded by the coastal landscapes of Liguria, the idea was to create images that felt personal, spontaneous and emotionally grounded rather than overly constructed.
As I have expressed many times, meeting and listening to understand who you’re going to photograph leads to opportunities to create some treasures that you will be able to leave as a gift, that is especially true when it comes to wedding photography, too often considered like something you have to shoot and pass to the next shooting…but this is true to photography, on any general level.
After the wedding in Villa Durazzo with Beatrice and Marios and after watching my ongoing underwater darkroom prints work in my darkroom in Milano we dreamed about doing something similar, given the mental and physical closeness to the sea we have in common, so it was a good time to take my Nikonos for a good adventure on the following days.
I could spend my entire photography future doing this, but it has been so special to leave something like this experience to this wonderful couple, too.
A perfect match. All is love.
Underwater engagement photography session, just a few days after their wedding….
A natural approach to engagement photography
I often photograph engagement sessions with the same documentary approach I use during weddings, allowing moments to unfold naturally with minimal direction and attention to atmosphere and genuine interaction.
I really can’t wait to meet you back soon!
